Have an original TI Flite from early 90's. Also picking up an older rear HED disc.
All of the lugs have factory painted gold/yellow-ish heart shaped cut outs. I was thinking of handpainting the tiny hearts on the lugs with better (non-faded) gold paint...originally I wanted to do gold B201AA risers so the stem/risers being the only gold (and it would match the frame stickers/lugs). Seat post would be black. I do think the finished product would look good...if not, I'll try something different.
I know gold on bikes look like it belongs in Dubai, but the subtle gold lugs and the darker red frame go well together. It's a similar color to older F1 Ferrari's before the Marlboro livery.
I've read almost a 1000 pages of this thread in the last week...95% of this thread is random conversations, discussing which wheel to run, posting ads, etc.. The people that read/post this thread have very similar taste as me...so that's why I post questions here.
I rarely read other forum sections...guess I'll browse around more.
