I'd like to make some spacers for below the stem that have the internal diameter of a 1" spacer and the external diameter of a 1 1/8" spacer , to give a cleaner appearance.

Might give a cleaner appearance at the spacer/stem junction but what about the headset/spacer junction?

I think it should look ok, the headset upper race is quite wide on top. I could always taper it slightly . I'm making some today so will check and post pics.
