Thank you very much, that looks good. I think it might get one of the ever ready ones and just not take the camera out to particularly fraught places :-)

The ever ready case is alright, although a bit pricey.

When you say a case, you mean like the ever ready case? Or something with more padding?
It'll just fit in the every ready case with a filter on (you have to squeeze it a tiny bit but it's fine). If you want something with more padding, I guess look for something like a holster. Manfrotto make a small padded case that just fits it, although the padding isn't all that. If you want something with more cushioning, some people use those small clip on lens pouches that Think Tank and Lowepro make to attach to a larger bag - they're about the right size, have chunky padding and easy drawstring or zipper access.
