  • Forgive me if this seems dumb, but why all the custom bending of the struts -wouldn't it work just as well for there to be a gradual arc back to both brackets? That way the bending would virtually take care of itself as you attach them. I've never done a mid-fork install, thus my incredulousness.

  • IME the bending doesn't really "take care of itself" as the stays are too rigid for that. Personally, I prefer an arc as opposed to a sharp bend but that's just me. Probably easier to make both sides the same if you just do a bend rather than an arc as looking at my pomp right now, I think the 2 sides are a bit different.

  • I have no idea how you'd put an arc on them. You can't have them under any great degree of tension or they'll just push the mudguard away as they try to straighten up. Also the change in angle is quite severe, especially for the top mount...

    I like the idea though, would save the hassle of bending them.
