I think it's fairly skilled to be able to know a route, understand the traffic flows of the day, what affects it etc etc.

No doubt it's skilled. But computers have reduced its value enormously. I can learn to recite the bible backwards - I can't expect to get paid £600 day for it.

@TW depends if you are discussing the value of the service they provide or the value of them as people I guess. I'm doing the former.
