Hi all, I'm having a massive clear out so this Quinns Lightweight Cycles frame and forks is one of many projects that has to go, the brand was a spin off of Harry Quinn and set up by his brother.
First the good, the frame is structurally sound, no dents cracks etc, and is made from Reynolds 500 Chrome Moly, so is solid and strong. Overall the paintwork is still ok and the BB threads (English) are fine, however there is some rust around the chainstays, but I'm confident it's only surface rust.
The real issues are that the Sakae Royal seatpost is seized, as is the Cinelli stem. I've widened the seat tube slightly to try and get penetrating liquid down there, and tried twisting with my biggest wrench, but so far no joy, although I only had one stab at it.
The stem didn't shift after an initial attempt either, but I haven't made much effort, so it's hard to know how stuck it really is and the stem clamp bolt seems to have gone missing. Maybe someone with more muscle with have better luck.
On the plus side the drop outs are semi horizontal, so this would be a great FS/SS conversion and I suppose you could leave the seat post and stem where they are if the sizing suits you.
So the for the frame, forks, the fitted Tange seiki headset, and with the stuck Sakae post and Cinelli stem (without bolt) I'd like £20, I think for that it's got to be worth a punt.
If that's crazy let me know and show me your offers, it's based in London E14, thanks v.much.
