I guess it depends if you're a TDF standard rider who isn't going to touch the brakes......and how many wheel failures do you see in pro racing.....always a puncture. Obviously a personal decision but having had my rims melt and seen at least another ten riders with the same situation I wouldn't ride carbon in the mountains again.
