• Hi guys
I have done researches on this bike that I want to share with you, expecting your help to improve them or to find missing things.

This frame belong to Gérard Rué.
Gérard Rué (born July 7, 1965 in Romillé) is a former French cyclist. He was professional from 1987 to 1996. Known for being one of the most important teammates of Miguel Indurain in the Banesto team, he also won several personal victories and some places of honor on the classics.
I found him and I will try to call him soon. He is working for Inter Sport, in France.

    PART 1
    The Frame.
Pinarello for Banesto ( should be Dedacciai tubing) size 58. In very good condition. No dent, no rust. Chromes are in very good condition as well as details on the frame. Paint has lost a little bit its brightness. One sticker missing.

Frames were producing by Pinarello and Dario Pegoretti on behalf of Pinarello using tubing (Dedaccaia 18MCDV6HT). On of the main difference was the headset tube (longer on the Pegoretti one).

Here are details showing that this frame belong to him.
a/ Insert on the top tube to fix for team flag
b/ Aluminium (chrome ) insert on the frame (seat tube) for the front derailleur
c/ Gérard Rué name on it

    PART 2
    TheGroupset.
Groupset used by Banesto on Pinarello bike in 1996 was apparently a Campagnolo Record 9 spd.
The one on my Pinarello seems to be a mix between Campagnolo Recor / C-Record 8 speed. That was my first impression but after few researches I found this groupset (see picture).
So my question is : Someone knows about this grouspet ? It seems to be a the first campagnolo C-Record groupset with ergopower. The headset is also very hard to define. It is a record but letter should be White on Black and the low cup is different.
Brakeset are also very hard to find, only Campagnolo is written on it.
    27.2 Campagnolo Record seatpost.
    Thanks for helping me.
I would say groupset could be original as it could´nt!

    PART 3
    The external components.
On the Pinarello bikes, stem is a black ITM, or on this one it is an Ellypse.
Handlebar is black ITM pro like the original.
Saddle is San Marco Racing Pro Hoskar instead of a Selle Italia TurboMatic saddle.
Time Team Magnesium like the original.

    PART 4
    The wheelset.
For sure not the original one.
Front hub is Chorus with Chorus written on it. Which model, year is it ?I don´t know. I need help, I did not find information on internet.
Rear hub could be 8 speed Chorus or Record, I don´t know. Please help me !
Mavic Open pros sup rims 32 holes.
    They ride perfectly, smoothly.

I have tried the bike 2 times, about 60 km with about 800m difference in height.
It rides very well, I was surprise about the biek reactivity. It is also very confortable.
