I need to work out a way to space the mudguard connection to the seat tube to push it closer to the wheel. The Portlands come with a non-adjustable clip fixing in that position and spacing the top and back portions closer to the wheel made it look uneven and half-arsed - so I've gone with a consistent spacing all round for now.

Wow, kudos to you. Looks really really great. Have you finished fitting that rear mudguard as clearance looks uneven ?
