Perhaps I'm missing something regarding a flat mount fork and how it differs to post mount.
Aesthetically I imagined flat mount would be better looking and wouldn't require an adapter if it were to be used with a flat mount hydraulic disc system.
P.S. That was the plan with the paint too (if we go down the adapter route)!

Seeing as a flat mount fork will still require an adapter, why don't you just use their standard post mount? I can't see any mechanical or aesthetic reasons not to, really.
And here's an idea for you: Get the adapter painted to match the fork and it will look super clean.
