    Out of interest, what sort of tolerances do you work with on the mitring? 0.1mm? 0.05mm? How much inaccurate measuring can the braze fill? I think I once asked in another framebuilding thread but don't remember getting an answer.

  • This is my "Very Limited Experience" talking: Brazing is essentially bridging and you can 'decide' how big you want the braze to a certain extent. i.e - you can decide to have big radiuses brazes (which would cover less accurate mitring I guess.) if that was the aesthetic you wanted.

    I'm fairly sure that some areas of my mitring were well outside the tolerances you note above in small patches. If too big though, the braze will just run through the gap and you'll be pouring loads of rod into your frame..

    The other frame builder John spoke about a jig he had made so he can cut the mitres on a machine. I guess this would reduce the tolerances. Stainless and Ti seem to need greater accuracy..
