Been scouring TK Maxx for bargains whenever I'm nearby. Takes a long time, because nothing is the correct size, and often they're in the wrong place. Bought a pair of Lotus boot-style shoes. Boot (elasticated sides, slip-on) upper, leather sock, goodyear flat leather sole and heel. Not the best quality heel rubber, but the price was okay for full leather. Totally warm and dry shoes today in the piss poor rain, and no aches or pains from the fit. Quite happy.
Frustratingly they had a really nice pair of dress shoes, but the size was one too big.
