undermined the effectiveness of trade unions by demanding they poll above 40% in order for a strike to be lawful (ok for torys to poll <30% to win a GE mind you) and criminalising certain kinds of picketing whilst simultaneously denying unions access to electronic voting - a technology recently used in the tory mayoral electoral process. do as they say. not as they do.
