Good brakes are my major concern too. The Alloy can take an adaptor so disc brakes are a possibility. I'm thinking of -at least- putting a modern suspension fork with disc brake on it. Rear brake is less important so a decent V-brake might be OK. I'm not a fan of 1x11, prefer 2x10.

Oh shit the bed those are nice. I would want the best brakes available for that kind of thing. Bet you could build a serious weight weenie with v brakes, carbon wheels, modern 1x11 and some light finishing kit
