Yeah I figured that much. Your reply was satisfactory tho! Something interesting always happens riding up/down Green Lanes, and is generally a mess. I was actually on the way to Crouch End myself but I went along Parkland walk out of Finsbury Park for the first time as an excuse to see how 28c tyres would fare on it. Lovely little jaunt that allows you to join Crouch Hill towards the top. Worth a look!

that was me, no skid as I was busy trying to filter down through the clusterfuck that is north, north london, and was also leading the way as we made our way to crouch end....
