• God, I hate bell tingers. If a pedestrian's in your way or endangering themselves they can hear you if you tell them. With your mouth. The bell is such an barrier-establishing, anti-communication piece of crap.
All that 'pedestrians in the way' as well. If you think the road is yours just because the lights say so then you're viewing the whole thing as a food chain. Makes you very much like the 'I pay road tax' guys.

  • i disagree regarding ' The bell is such an barrier-establishing, anti-communication piece of crap.'

after recently getting a bell people are aware of my presence a whole lot quicker. my bell ringing intention is not to say move out of my fucking way because i am not going to stop but mostly because pedestrians rely on their ears as much or more than there eyes regarding when and where they walk in the road. the number of times i have been shouting 'turning left' or the repeated "excuse me, excuse me, EXCUSE ME" as people amble along ahead oblivious to anyone else is well frustrating.

a couple of bell rings in plenty of time and then another as it needed followed by a thankyou has served me perfectly and have yet to have anyone jump down my throat for doing it. I findit actually feels more polite than the out of breath possible overly loud yelling of 'hello i am trying to get passed please can you move for a second'.

i will keep belling away and be more comfortable for it.
