Reminds me of a poorly translated interview with an English musician I saw on Spanish TV years and years ago. Basically, I couldn't work out what the hell they were trying to say and initially assumed it was some Spanish idiom with which I was unfamiliar. Working back, though, I realised they'd heard 'to all intents and purposes' as 'to all intensive purposes' and clearly didn't have a clue what the guy was actually saying.
