I'm a big fan of both the 35/2.8 and 50/1.7 lenses.

any recommendations for super compact 35mm cameras?

Olympus mju-II / Pentax Espio mini (the latter is 32mm but hey)..

Love the espio mini. Bought mine off ebay for a pound. nice sharp lens on it as well.
