    This would surprise me given the new affordability rules. When we recently remortgaged (with the same provider) we had to provide payslips, details of employment, they wanted the size of my bonus going back two years, shoe size etc.

    I suspect if you want to borrow more, then yah - they might check you out.

    Just remortgaged two places, asked for no checks, but then again I didn't change the amount borrowed.
