Most forces have forgotten the basics and rarely bother with this type of thing which can be irritating in itself.

If you mean police here, they don't enforce any parking. Only obstruction eg. within 15 meters of a corner, double yellows.
Which means everyone parks on cycle lanes too...

This utter bellend that plonks his car in the middle of the lane...on a corner...next to his completely free car parking space. That's big enough for a learner driver to get into with ease.
Result: I can see the square root of f-all coming round corner and by now I hope somebody does horrid things to his car. Like sawing off the part that sticks out on the road.
Explanations & asking fall on deaf ears.
I phoned the police a few times for obstruction of the road and they have been at his door (maybe for other things?) but he seems particularly hard of understanding.
Humans... :)
