While I think driver education is important and all drivers should learn much more about sharing the road with cyclist, in this case the driver, who probably doesn't want to be there likely won't really learn much, prosecution, points and fines will perhaps be more effective. We let drivers get away with risky driving in our society so sticks rather than carrots in this case... Prosecute !

so a while back I was hit by a car. Reported in the traditional way.
Question for me now. Do I want the driver prosecuted for undue care and attention or am I willing to allow the driver to attend an awareness course instead?
I'm going to @skydancer @Oliver Schick for their considered view and @dancing james because he seems to crash a lot and may have been asked this by the Met before. Anyone else's view is welcome as well.
