• I was hoping that the bike would appear in the state DoktorPepe showed - guess I should have read the blurb a bit more thoroughly.

Don't know if I can be doing with sorting out the tyres, a new brazed-on front mech, getting the left shifter sorted, making sure the tyres match, and those rims aren't pretty.

That said, the frame is lush, the price is good, and I don't like that stem or handlebar set-up anyway. Can you give an idea of what's replacing them - pictures of the Ti silver Cinelli stem and black Deda Bars basically?

  • I don't really want to put potential buyers off, by sounding at all off... But it is what it is! And if it was the same build as Pepe had it, it would be a fair bit more than £250!

If the front tyre is what is throwing you, I have now fitted my spare, virtually brand new, Specialized Armadillo 23x700c tyre to match the same size and profile as the rear and ammending this through out the thread. That said because of this I have also changed the price to £260 from £250, to accommodate the fact that I'm now going to have to go out and buy another 23x700c tyre, which will cost more than £10 I've put the price up by! Although if anyone wants the bike with the virtually brand new 20x700c front tyre on it instead of the Specialized 23x700c, then I'm happy to refit it and drop the price back down to £250

A brand new Shimano 105 front braze on mech is £12.99, delivered, from CRC, or a 9 speed Sora is £10.99, again delivered, and they are pretty simple to fit. I'll also supply a brand new cable for the front mech, for free, with the bike when it sells. Alternatively if anyone is interested in the bike and is put off by the fact it has no front mech, that comes with the bike that will currently fit it, then if you stump up the money for the mech, as a none refundable deposit, prior to the sale. Then I'll buy and fit a front mech to the bike and then you can pick the bike up from me ready to go, obviously minus seat and pedals, for the asking price, there fore no hassle!

The left (front) Shimano 600 shifter works fine! Its not like you can get the wrong gear with a 2 speed friction shifter front mech/shifter combo, its either one gear or the other.

The replacement stem, that is now fitted to the bike, is not Titanium, it did state that 3 times in the above description, before I amended the thread through out, to its current build. The stem that was originally on the bike and that will be getting transferred to my restored daily ride is the Ti Cinelli Grammo, the stem that's now on the bike is not ti, its aluminum. I have fitted the black Deda Nera bars and a 135mm silver Cinelli Stems, as shown through out the thread now. If 135mm is to long for a potential buyer, I also have a shorter 75mm Cinelli stem of a similar type, that I can fit, prior to a sale, as long as the buyer lets me know in advance.

So all in all, not that much hassle, the wheels are a desired taste (I personally quite like them) but for £260 cash on collection and with options for the potential buyer to have a front mech fitted. It seems like a good deal to me!

    cheers Andy
