The best record store that I know of, Aquarius Records in San Francisco, listed 'Valis' by the one-man-band Mastery as one of their records of the week. Despite having released their demo on Tummult and despite them having a split with Skullflower, I had not heard them before.
Their newest is rad. If you are a fan of Orthrelm or other weirdo metallers, this is for sure for you. The description Aquarius gave was "demented outsider/experimental/avant black metal" which I guess it is.
