  • I've got a pair of 1960 Racelites, the rear is fine but I have a small problem with the front.

    One cone is adjustable (spanner flats) and the other isn't (no flats): example below.

    I think my adjustable cone is a replacement as it isn't as wide as the other, so the hub isn't centred: about 3mm off. I could just pack it out with a washer, but ideally I'd like to replace it or (more likely) both of them; wouldn't mind replacing the whole assembly as the axle and nuts are showing their age.

    What I'm struggling with, is finding what size I need. The axle appears to be 1/4" and this guy refers to "size 8 metric 1.00 pitch thread nuts".

    If anyone could help with further info and/or sources of spares, I'd be much obliged.
