1) If it's 27" then most likely a Rigida and there is no cassette, it is a screw on freewheel block.
2) The tool to remove will likely be one of three. A splined or 2-notch or 4-notch. This is easy to identify.
3) If you buy the removal tool then you want to buy a singlespeed freewheel with the same fitting
4) Then you will need to respace the axle and redish the wheel. Easier said than done. Will need spoke key
