Yep, I'm not keen on the yellow either. Funny how Ducati's 2 key colours are pretty much identical to Ferrari's 2 most associated colours...

The red is the "Italian Racing Red", most italian fast vehicle manufacturers would traditionally have an overweight of red vehicles to associate them with official motorsports.
Not sure about the yellow though.

Try the ferrari badge for the yellow. Ducati and ferrari shared the prancing horse and the colours.

Red is the rosso corsa,
