About 6 years ago when my GF moved to London straight out of uni she lived in Stockwell and was on £17.5k. Although she didn't really drink at the time. I think her rent was about £450 in a shared house.
I agree with @rogan. North of £20k would be better because rents are higher now.

Pretty vague this one, but hey.
What kind of salary would one need to earn to live (rent) in central-ish London and not be skint as fuck? Currently debt-free and with no dependents. Happy to house/flat share, would be looking to get around mainly by bike, and social life would hopefully revolve around diy (so inexpensive/free) gigs and cycling. Most of the people I know live North/East so I guess I’d be looking around there initially, but I’m not against the idea of living South per se. I realize location is a main factor and I don’t know exactly where I’d want to be as this would be dependent on job location (I said this was vague) but any thoughts would be welcome.
