I've only spent a week on an Arione VS so not enough time to draw proper conclusions, however during that time (around 240 miles, so a few hours each day on the bike) the saddle did not exhibit the behaviours that Dan attributes to it.
Maybe we adopt a different position on the bike/saddle.
Anyway, I've just put one on my commuter to give it a decent long term test.
