hey guys, I'm going to attempt to create and stay on top of this CP thread!
Ive decided to build my first road bike, been riding fixed for over two years, road MTB and BMX for many years before getting the fixed!
Now I've decided I want to race next year so I need a road bike.
Trying to find a decent road frameset within my budget was tough (around £900-1000 full build) untill a friend of mine mentioned he had a Boardman Pro Carbon in my size for sale...So i snapped it up! I know people have some issued with boardman but in all honesty the framesets are not that bad, but we will see over time, and if you have any opinions or facts let me know!
I had some Planet X Time Trial forks that I thought would fit but they never as the boardman has a tapered head tube, so I ended up buying some chinese carbon forks...
Also going to build this with Shimano ultegra 6700 2x10 groupset. Though it will have Sram force cranks as i already had those lying around, and itll have mavic aksium race wheel.
Spec list.
Frame: 2010 Boardman pro carbon XL.
Forks: Chinese tapered full carbon
Headset: Fsa (I Think)
Stem: Deda zero
Bars: Bontrager Vr-s Compacts
Shifters: Ultegran 6700
Brakes: Either Sram force or shimano Ultegra
Cables: Jagwire pro?
Cranks: Sram Force 2011
Deraliurs F+R: Shimano Ultegra 6700
Chain: Ultegra 10 speed
Cassette: Ultegra 6700
Wheels: Mavic Aksium Race
Tyres: I have no idea what to get
Seat: Selle SLR
