Slight disappoint. It's sad seeing such a beautifully made frame that's been so obviously maltreated... the rattlecan touch ups are comedy, and the headset knackered, although this might just be because of the spray paint getting into the bearings. It's clearly started life as someone's pride and joy and then either been sold to someone who's got a less precious attitude to bike maintenance or just been supplanted by something flashier. Meh.
Frame itself looks nice when you see past the crusty paint and shitty components, Columbus EL leggeri, rear will definitely take a 28c, front probably a 25, 1 1/8 head tube so no shitty ahead converter required.
Basically, it's getting totally stripped back to steel and then will think about whether I can afford to send it back to Roberts for a re-clothing or if I do something temporary myself. Last time I did a spray job it was pretty ok, but the cost of the paint etc was half of any decent job elsewhere so maybe I should just get a durable and basic powder coat done at armourtex to help it stay fresh in and out of the case.
Money issues are more pressing atm anyway, so might not be the fastest restore thread : /
