Had to pop out to get something to help with the training this evening, so before loading two bottles of Italian red into my bag I did a little loop up Honor Oak Park, Netherby and Canonbie. On my way I bumped into Jurek, who I think has also been out to buy training fluids, and he assured me that it was easily doable with any gears. He's slender whippet compared to my unfit 78kg, so I was not convinced.
But he was right, it is a manageable and brief climb. So all set for next weekend! Watch me collapse 200 yards short of the brow of the hill.
