Update on this - we went back with a speculative further offer (15% over original asking price!), vendor just sent us an email via the agent saying that even though ours was the higher offer they were going to respect the offer they had previously accepted and stick with that. Nice to see some honour in the housing market, but just our luck to find the only honourable seller in London! At least we avoided a horrible blind auction nonsense.
