| | http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/FAWPFAP/ We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to amend current Employment Descrimination Law to protect the rights of People with Tattoos and Piercings. More details Submitted by Anna Invernizzi of Fighting Against Workplace Prejudice for Alternative People Modified people are not being protected by the law; Companies and organizations face massive implications for not hiring a person based on their age, disabilities, sex or gender, race or religion, sexual orientation or criminal past – but appearance is not once mentioned, and there is nothing to stop an employer from witholding a position based on how someone looks - the only exception being if a body modification is in contravention of health and safety laws. People with tattoos, piercings, unusual hair style and/or colour should be given the same rights as everyone else, and should be protected by the law to avoid mindless discrimination whether they are seeking employment (to include a prospective employer witholding a position) or are employed and experiencing descrimination from their employers (to include witholding promotion or experience of bullying from colleagues) based on their appearance. - This was posted on FB. I wrote this: ":/ I'm 50/50 on signing up for this. I think its respectful to cover up modifications that can easily be hid by clothing. However there's kids thesedays getting visible tattoos on their necks and knuckles without a second thought about it because it's so in "trend" to, most being in their early 20's I have no problem in hiding my stretched ears, my tattooed arms and feet. It's fine by me, I dont mind looking "professional" However I do think it's annoying that they will judge you on something silly like a nose/tongue piercing, hair colour etc." Interested in hearing your opinions though with "Mods" Vs Workplaces/Jobs |

| | Looking at getting some work on my chest soon so I've been searching around trying to find someone in London who's good at black and grey. Whilst internet searching I stumbled upon this guy: http://www.flickr.com/photos/liam666/ His stuff looks incredible! I've never really seen tattoos like them. Like a cross between the tattoos you see in those russian criminal tattoo encyclopedias books mixed with medieval woodcuts. I don't think he's in London at the moment, if he was he'd be getting a phone call from me soon ![]() |

| | The Bizarre interview is the one I remember but there may have been another one in Skin Deep. Here's one from BMEzine. Last edited by el squire; 19th October 2009 at 08:04. |
