| | lol i really hope to be on the other side of the equator by then, i just think that a lot of money is beilg wasted for the olympics, OUR MONEY, when there's a lot of other stuff that should be dealt with in London, such as guns for coppers, bigger prisons. I don't understand this country sometimes....in china families aren't allowed to have more than one child without paying extra tax, in here you get cash for each one you get, a council flat, benefit......time for GIuliani like mayor to come? |

seriously cop aren't hard enough in here, bunch of sissies, in Italy i've been chased on foot for smoking a joint, in London a cop told me i should smoke one when my ex's flat got broken into...curfew for minors, tougher laws, (a written constitution might help) better trained police is what this city should have. Why are there so many alchoholics in here by the way? Don't get me wrong i still love London, it's just that it could be better.

| | i assume we're talking about PC's on the streets not the other ones who got guns. i'd say coppers in this country aren't getting their priorities right. it's not about the guns. i agree a lot of them are sissies. i once got told off by a copper for having my bike between my legs on the pavement in brixton. my feet weren't even on the pedals. i got off my bike and sort of protested in a mild way he grabbed it, put it aside roughly and asked me for my name and address etc and threatened to give me a ticket. what a wanker. they should well be cracking down on drug dealers and all that crap instead of patronising a cyclist. hey honest, is he supposed to be allowed to handle my bike at all? it seems that it really is getting rather political today. |

| | Cops here are quite soft. If the yoofs back home did some of the crap that London's kiddies get away with they'd be taken out of view of the CCTV and have the crap beaten out of them. I think I'm addicted to that cop show.. Street Wars. Damn there are some little pr1cks on that show!! I couldn't be a cop - I would've truncheoned the whole town's under 30 population by now. |

Aidan's spot on here - London needs better education opportunities and positive things for kids to do. Some more council housing would go down a treat in most places. Giving people a chance to do better than their parents and a future to look forward to would counter more crime and anti-social behaviour than giving every policeman a gun and the ability to arrest people for looking a bit dodgy.

| | Stopping small scale impact crime (shoplifting, vandalism, etc) has a positive impact on reducing more serious crimes, apparently. That's why cops will deal with all crimes petty or not. Still, I think sometimes they could target more damaging crimes than remedial herb use.. "Kids these days..." just seem to have no respect for anyone - cops, parents, old peeps, etc. Who the hell is disciplining the kids? No one. Not alowed to smack kids, not allowed corporal punishment in school, blah blah.. The little bastards get it too easy these days. If I was in charge... |

Part of me thinks that extra curricular activities would be a good thing, but my Daily mail side thinks we should stop being all 'touchy feely' with young people. Young people today have pretty much limitless opportunities. They have access to more information than any other generation in history and generally have more money. Yet they (we?) seem to do the least. I think we (as a society) have become lazy. We need more discipline, more reaction too our actions.
