Schlick: dtm.

Didn't see the Schlickmonster at Muddy Hell. Clearly I haven't inspired him to ride.

What an epic night that was. Really enjoyed it. Almost wet myself with glee every time somebody went up on that wall. Great work!

Thanks. I over took Konrad so was running 6th until I crashed on the wall ride and he got past me again. My attempts to re-catch him led to me crashing again on the muddy bend, and I'm now suffering the consequences of that off (some lovely bruising on my left thigh and hip).

What happened to Kevin Knox? He was leading for a lot of the race wasn't he?

I saw you Joe, rocking that flourescent waistcoat look. I was in Rollapaluza kit with (ill-fitting) red arm warmers.

I swapped out the pink mtb at the last minute for a Everti cross bike.

I was otherwise engaged and gutted to miss it. It's one of my favourite events of the year.

This was about the only part of the racing I saw....he pitted about 2/3 of way through race to change bikes, then rode into the pits on the next lap and there was no-one there waiting for him!....he rolled off again but gave up after a few metres of mud....I'm guessing punctures on both bikes?

Top tip: Never do or believe anything Andy/Rowhan/Hinati says to you.

Mid-conversation with a club mate he bowls up and excitedly informs me everyone is enroute to The Regents NOW! I politely finish conversation find him nowhere and cane it down to the pub, only to find there was no one there.

Probably for the best, was feeling a bit worse for wear. No breakfast, track and then the whole afternoon in the pub with nowt to eat leaves me questioning how I got back home on that gearing.

Anyway amazing event, truly had a great time and saw a bunch of spills which if we're honest with ourselves is what we watch cross for. It's like NASCAR in that respect; except with cross people don't die.

hey winston (and caspar), well done for getting muddy hell together again. marshalling is always good (even at the the main gate / drop), met loads of mums/dads with their kids they all had a brilliant time, i'd promised to pass on their thanks. also good to see a few forum faces too. the racing was superb again, mr blobby a huge hit. sorry i didn't stay around for the strike, had to get home..

in other news, replacing 40 metres of garden fencing at the out-laws place in banbury. equates to 300 shiplap boards and 14 kicking board / planks along the south boundary of their garden, finish tomorrow all in under three days!! the weather has been kind, a big bonfire methinks the old timber is bone dry!!

beats being at work this week.

cheers
