| | There is a clear conflict of interest and the current cronies are fucking mad if they think that's an ok way to do things in 2012. Andy as I read it funding source '1' in your list includes pro teams (according to your link). The size of this funding isn't a problem, it just needs to be clear that a team (or rider) can't buy 'credit' at the blood bank. |

| | ^The likely most influential member of the UCI is Igor Makarov the billionaire head of Katusha Russian cycling project. His backstory is interesting. He's also head of Russian cycling federation and is funding a track program to match GB |

| | The rules around the election of the UCI management committee and the President are nuts so, unless there is major reform, then one of the current members of the committee would be the next President. Few of them are credible. Personally, if I were involved in this, I'd be working on a new organisation that includes the teams and the race organisers that is separate from the UCI, leaving them the amateur side of the sport to run. Which, for a group of amateurs, seems appropriate. |

| | In many ways, it's a massive success story. When you have found all the gains there are in the things you have under control, the next step is to find a way to control everything and anything else, in the case of Lance era pro cycling, all that was left was doping. To mastermind and control this was the final piece in the jigsaw of success. Taking morality and legality away for a moment, this is the ultimate attention to marginal gains, how else would it have been possible for him to 'win' 7 tours? This is probably part of the reason why Lancey-boy posts photos of himself 'chillaxing in his jersey room'. Well, that and the fact he's an odious, depraved psychopath. |

| | He is an incredibly impressive sociopath. You get the impression that whatever he did he would have, through a combination of will power, intelligence, bullying, intimidation, hard work, backstabbing and cheating, risen to the top. Think great business leaders and politicians of our time. Wonder how he would have done at the fall of communist Russia. That's the true test of a cunt. |

We all know that's bollocks, it's not OK and never was, but some still need to justify their opinion. a lot of people (inexplicably) idolised him and find it very hard to reconcile his wrongdoing within their own ego. Choosing instead to become defensive. | |

| | They would only take 10˘ on the $ if they thought LA was pretty much bankrupt, which doesn't seem to be the case yet. They might want to get in before the Feds, though, because triple damages on the fraud charges are going to make a big dent even in LA's ill gotten gains. |

| | Yeah, I bought one at 1p. Then thought "I wonder if 0.00 would work, I'll see if it lets me get to the checkout". Because there is nothing to pay it bypassed the payment options altogether and processed the order. 2 copies on the way. Just need to think of a friend that I buy Christmas presents for, that's into either cycling or cancer and has no principles... |
