| | Riding in Circles: Beginners Bike Polo - 18th/19th June ![]() As part of Bike Week we're hosting a Beginners Bike Polo weekend on the 18th and 19th of June at the centre of Hackney Downs in conjunction with the LCC and Hackney Council, it will hopefully evolve into a regular NE London beginners session. Everyone's welcome, we recommend bringing your own bike (one that you feel most comfortable on) and we'll introduce you to the world of bike polo (mallets, balls and some loaner bikes will be available). We'll be here from 11am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday and there will be people on hand to show you the basics (tripoding, shuffles, dribbling, shooting) before you enter the court. At 6pm we'll head to a nearby pub and enjoy the remainder of the sunshine. All abilities welcome, this could be the start of your journey to next year's Euros or Worlds! List time: 1. Jenny 2. | | Ah, good one, Jon. I've put the start time as 10am everywhere, need to change that and the name of the event where I've entered it in events listings. I've just put it up on the new LCC web-site: http://lcc.org.uk/events/london-bike...use-games-area It's all very new, but hopefully the new events listing pages will attract a few eyeballs. Should the poster have the times on it, too? |

| | Oh, here's the Bike Week page, by the way: http://www.bikeweek.org.uk/event_sea...&event_id=1198 Let me know if any details need correcting. I assume that the bit about loaner bikes and mallets is true? I've also put 'not suitable for under-16s', but again can change that--I wasn't too sure about legal issues. |

| | Wouldnt wanna put my name on a list then not turning up but I am moving house this weekend hence if everything is sorted early then I will make an appearance. Also, have told a group of kids from Newt (the ones who always borrow my bike and which I have promised mallets) that the event is happening and they said they will try to make it. As it is quite a few of the kids go to Downs for football training. |
