Trixie Chix in Cooler Magazine

I thought you might like to check out this article on fixed gear bikes in Cooler Magazine. Yes, they do go on about 'no brakes' and 'fixies' all the time, but it's a pretty good effort and its nice to see something in a women's magazine that you actually want to read!

the stem/frottage pic is a bit strong for a magazine that could fall into the hands of impressionable young children.
frankly i'm disgusted they printed this. they young lady in the picture should be ashamed of herself.

I like the way the journo is banging on about riding with no breaks (sic) right next to a fucking great big picture of four bikes with brakes on them
But negativity about media monkeys aside, you lot are certainly getting a good name for yourselves - keep it up :-)

full stop (or "period") would have sufficed. A hyphen - or dash - would have been more magaziney.

I think the article, grammar/spelling aside is pretty great. The woman who wrote it rides fixed and interviewed me right after the Observer debacle so I was pretty hard on her.
I would like to say that I said "I only knew 3 other women riders" not that there were only 3. According to my quote I was the 4th ever fixed rider in all of London when I started.

We are in the August edition of Elle Magazine -Quebec as well so get your subscriptions in now.

I shouldn't be surprised by it now, but it never ceases to amaze me that 'proper' media make the sort of errors that would make me curl up and die with shame if they appeared on Moving Target.

And once the mistake has appeared in a 'credible' news source, that's it - fact. To be repeated by all the others.

You are now officially the fourthest fixie girl in London ever, Roxy - take a bow.

And considering that currently there are "ONLY 7 WOMEN IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD RIDING FIXIES" I'm even more fantastic-er.

My mom has the subscription, she just got it a couple days ago so we nabbed it. And yeah, that's the whole article. I guess the bigger version is in La Presse from a couple months ago by the same guy.

Right, heres the translation:

Trendy
Everything is fine for the Trixie Chix! (Sense: Everything is rolling for the Trixie Chix!)

People are speaking more and more about them. Every Tuesday, the Trixie Chix – a team of London girls who love cycling – gathers to practice their favourite sport: the urban polo…on wheels! Adopted by the London hipsters, this sport is as much hockey as classic polo. “We bump into each other, we fall, but most important we have much fun”, says Claire Davison laughing. The Trixie Chix share a very good sense of balance and humour. It is also a nice way to socialize”, she says after having changed her bike for a beer. Well, this is not for people who like to have quiet evenings.
