Polar S725x Heart Rate Monitor

Purchased s/h back in 2006 but never mounted onto a bike.

The kit includes everything listed here:
http://www.heartratemonitor.co.uk/polar_s725_uk.html

It's got the extras including the "Power Kit" and the "Infra-red USB Kit" and the software to view the output on your computer.

List price is £279 from Polar, £219 from that website for the S725 without the power kit and USB thing.

The power kit is £180 list price, and the USB is £35 list price.

So new this would set you back: £219 + £180 + £35 = £434

I'm asking for £130. Which should be enough to tempt any of you who were thinking of HRM as for this price you'd get way more than you could and would have all the extras too.

Is the condition ok? Does it still pickup (ie. not flat battery)?

I've no idea... I never mounted it.

I wouldn't be surprised if it needed batteries though... don't they discharge slowly even when not in use? So after 2+ years of not being touched.

Pft... it's quicker for me to check isn't it?

Well the watch battery is definitely flat.

Can't really test the others given that I won't see the output, but it's probably best to assume that all of the batteries are dead. Happy to drop to £120 as a result.

it's black, shiny and about 15" long - best if clamped at the base

You know Polar quote some crap about needing to send the watch bits to an authorized repair place (due to the rubber seal) and pay about £15 or something..

All you need is a button battery (few quid), a small screwdriver, and a steady hand. FYI, like.

Me. Steady hand? Are you fscking mad?
Have you seen the chemicals I've been putting in my body for the last 10 years?
Maybe if I have a few (dozen) pints beforehand I'll be ok ;)

Purchased s/h off VB back in May 2008 but never mounted onto a bike.

I'm also asking for £130, since I never did anything with it after buying it off VB.. I got into the Powertap thing so never used this. If anyone wants a Polar with lot, so to speak.. send me 130 clams (where clams = pounds sterling for you literal feckers out there).
