The purple one is a Fort? See, the paint is actually quite a nice but fine metallic finish in the flesh, it just really doesn't photograph well. I'm thinking that a carbon 4 or tri spoke on the front and an all black rear wheel might set the blue off... what's ruining it at the minute are the braking surfaces... such a fast wheelset though superlight...and the stem...

True, all black and it would look pretty well... The purple was originally a yellow 7005 and it is now this...

Needs proper wheels though, stupid trendy hipster wheels weighing a metric fuck ton... Already ditched the Brooks for an SLR

Either Mavic Ellipse or CD Open Pro X *nice hubs*

Colour doesn't look great in that liht but it's dark grey with a rainbow flake.

I think I'll get the wheels sorted then see how it looks, if still not happy might go down the deep purple with pink flake/metallic or something along those lines.... think I saw some photos of yours up close before, nice.

So yesterday a picked up the frame;

Even the old pricetag was on it, 750 gulden. Which was our money before the euro came. It was pretty expensive!

Made a quick build up, difficult to make pictures of a white bike.

I will change a lot so don't worry.

About £200 if I recall the exchange rate correctly. Pretty cheap next to the £500+ I paid for my Rourke in 1991

Well 750 pound now is thanks to the economics around 600 euro which is more than 200 pounds, but you can't realy compare it to nowadays money.

A will replace the saddle by a turbo or a rolls and maybe a bullhorn, I have some nice ones.

Looks like the bike is a long way from being fitted to the rider. Has superb stoppie potential though, with the brake levers so far in front of the axle.

It seems to need reiterating every few pages; if your 'fit triangle' changes between your drop bar TT bike and your Lo-pro, you're doing it wrong.

Initial build was C-Record headset, seatpost, brake calipers, chainset and hubs (LF 28h to Mach2 CD), DuraAce 7400 gear lever, RD and MF-7400 freewheel, Modolo Kronos brake levers, Cinelli 1A and LA84 bars, DuraAce PD-7401 'Look' type pedals. As shown, it has Arrospoks with Wolber Record 18 Piste tubulars, and quite possibly the freewheel stripped to just a 13/14/15 3-speed set up.

Up to 2009, if you were riding round here, we may have crossed paths.

I love the older Mitre kits, tried to persuade their de-facto designer to bring it back. But, they love their euro look.
