email trackstar in NY. they had the Zaffiro Pro's which were WAY better than the originals a week or so ago when i went. I think i got the last few but may have had more hiding or restocked them. $30 too so a pretty good price compared to a few months ago!

That's a shame.
They're usually on top of things.

They've sent me some stuff a few times and never a prob. Copy of COG mag included too.

How much did you have to pay?

Ouch!

Like when I bought some 2nd hand tubular wheels and the guy forgot to write Gift!
£97!!!Tax. That was double the price I paid.
Couldn't get money back so had to pay up.

I guess it's hit or miss.

I heard the other day that cycling/cycling parts are non taxable and you can claim tax back!
The guy who told me said he'd claimed tax back on all bits he'd ever bought...from anywhere and everywhere!

Is that true? If so why are shops charging VAT?
Books have no tax.

Like Conan said, if you can, go for the Pro's to make them last that tiny bit longer.
They'll be bringing out all white Rubino's soon.

You can also 'buy' a friend via proxy services like http://www.Celga.com

I've used them for years for buying stuff from Yahoo Japan auctions and the Rakuten online shops.

You email them the URL of the stuff you want and paypal them a 50% deposit, they purchase it get it shipped to their office in Japan then forward to you and charge $10 per 10000 yen for the service. They send it EMS to you in 3 days or so and will mark as Gift etc. anything you like.

As an example a pair of them there tires would cost

8200 yen @ 100 yen= $1 (includes Paypal fees) = $82
Domestic shipping in Japan say $8
Celga fee $10
Shipping EMS to UK up to 750g $22

Total $122 = approx £63
