To get there from the Dynamo route, turn right off the Wethersfield Road into Church Street, then left into Alexandra Road, then left into Parkfields.

ha i was expecting the obligatory "follow the cyclists" thats the norm round here.

not really practical for you to wait with food in the van is it john in SH? you'll have no idea how many people you might still have to wait for?

Last year we used that Google tracking app thing, when the last wo/man came though, the van was free to roll on.

As a DD noob I'd say this was quite a good show. Now to decide on what food to take. I'm thinking cheese n pickle. I like cheese n pickle.

This is also my first DD and I've got to say I can't freaking wait!

Oh and I know I'll be over packing. The thing is I'd happily do 140 miles during the day time (and have done when touring) but something about the night time throws me out and I think I have to pack everything under the sun.

And a good slug of brandy for emergencies or the beach.

Thanks. I particularly echo what Patrick Field had to say around 21m 40secs in, on the subject of the growing number of people who appear to treat the ride as a race. He says that faster riders should challenge themselves to leave later: 10, 11, midnight. Besides challenging themselves, this gives faster riders the chance to witness the ride as a whole (assuming they're passing slower rider) and to be able to lend a helping hand to any riders having mechanical or other trouble en route.

i will be doing the same, if you are on the coach and have a gmail email address expect an add request for lattitude so i can see where you are.

if you are a forumenger on the ride but not on the LFGSS coach but do have a gmail account then you can pm me with your email address and ill add you too in case of emergency.

Had a chat with Herr Schick about this. I can't have an opinion but it does sound a bit sad of some blokes to ride as if in a Sportif ... What's the quote? Sportives aren't races really but people like to pretend they are, audaxes are races really but people pretend they're not.

I'm really into the feeling that it's inclusive, slightly bonkers, stealthy (1000+ riders passed your sleepy village last night), and the complete opposite of competitive riding. I will only be competing on the quality of the armagnac I will be finishing with on the beach.
