CC Hackney: Round Chelmsford Ride, Sun 13th April.

Hey all
Haven't posted on this for a while so ought to reintroduce myself and say hello. Went on a few night rides a while back but should be coming on a few more soon.
Wanted to draw your good attentions to the first big ride of a new cycling club for hackney. Their inaugural Round Chelmsford Ride is this Sunday. Not sure of the course apparently it's 90 not too hilly miles. Obviously a fair few will be on the Southampton ride on Sat (good luck all) but if you're feeling brave enough for both/ can't make that one, come on this!
No entry fee, you don't have to live in Hackney, just roll up to Lee Valley ice rink at 9.00am. First 30 riders to the cafe at the turning point get a commemorative tea towel to dry your mugs with pride. Useful and stylish! See

Any fixed riders who want to come, say so and I'll refrain from dusting off my geared bike. The more riders out, the better the chances of getting sponsorship from Essex Council with which to extend the club and get on with the main aim- getting the youf riding and racing bikes. Lastly there are various train bail-out options if it all gets too much.
Cheers, Nat

Good work Nat.

I'd be down for getting involved in the club, but won't be able to make this ride.

Admittedly it looks a bit roady but recumbents are riding with normal bikes- not something you'd see if people were going to give you a hard time over what your wearing. There'll be groups too- so people can take it at whatever pace they want.
xsheepx- shows how long since I was on here that I forgot about polo, have fun.

Have a lot on, but will try to make it if I can. How long did the round trip take on the test ride a few weeks back?

ps. to be honest I think I'll be on gears - haven't done that kind of distance for a while now and am not sure I'm up to it fixed.

Nice one H20. Be good if you can join us. I wasn't on the practice run- am drumming up support on their behalf, so not sure how long it takes. But I'm guessing you should be back by 4 no worries, with a stop in the cafe for lunch.
