The CP Summer Series eventually kicked off, after sultry weather brought the world and his wife to CP to kick a bag of air about on our court.... tonight's format was a mini league featuring yet another Netto combo; Doomallets; the Hip Replacements and a throw in special Yoof Squad.

Mini League Table

Netto Graffstar$ (LOLZ) W 3 L 0 D 0 TB - F 12 A 5 = 15pts
Yoof Squad W 2 L 1 D 0 TB 1 F 9 A 8 = 11pts
Hip Replacements W 1 L 2 D 0 TB 2 F 9 A 10 = 7pts
Doomallets W 0 L 3 D 0 TB 1 F 6 A 13 = 1pt

Feisty competition for the minor places with the Hips pushing Netto in the first game to 3-2; then, in Paul NZ's final appearance in the Replacements shirt, settling an old score against Doommallets 5-3. The Yoof Squad got off to a winning start but their playmaker was called in to bed by his mum, leading to a 4-2 defeat against the Graffstar$. Goal of the night went to Pineapple Paul when playing for Yoof, singlehandedly overcoming a hundered tackles to slide home the decisive goal against the Hips at 4-2.

The proto goals made their first appearance and seemed to hold up, the old school street sounds electro beatz gave a chilled vibe and our trick cyclist competed for the attentions of the strollers.

Thanks to those who made it - let's ramp it up from here on in....

it means goals, 'for' 12 'against' 5. and the points are just points woody, 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and none for a loss. like football and shit. thank fuck for paul getting goal of the night, scored our only point!

5 points for a win/2 points a draw - 1 point time bonus to a losing team that finished the full ten minutes (ie. didn't lose 5-0)... F = goals for/A = goals against - simples!

CP Summer Series Round 2

NETTO W 4 D 0 L 0 TB - F 18 A 1 = TOTAL 20
MALLETS JAUNE W 2 D 1 L 1 TB 2 F 12 A 13 = TOTAL 14
ASBO W 2 D 0 L 2 TB 1 F 13 A 10 = TOTAL 11
HIP REPLACEMENTS W 1 D 1 L 2 TB 1 F 8 A 15 = TOTAL 8
DOOMALLETS W 0 D 0 L 4 TB 2 F 5 A 17 = TOTAL 2

Lot's of positives and one negative from the balmy second night of the series... superb turnout with promising debuts from Gaz, Emma and Rob - waytogo guys! Good spectator support added to the summer vibe once the boo boy(s) and their audience had got bored (or mummy called them home for tea). Netto continued to sit above the eager pack, although ASBO was a tough nut to crack - over 3 minutes before the first goal and the last in the 3-0 game came very late on. Performance of the night surely must be Mallet Jaune coming from behind (is there any other way??) to shock ASBO 3-4 in the final match of the night- chapeau boys! The league table shows the benefit of securing a win against the bigger boys! The Doomallets became the whipping boys - shipping a record number of goals - they need Scott back pronto to steady the ship! The Hips were decimated by Paul's departure and then Lewis having to read Rufus his bedtime story - worthy Replacements for the evening saw a welcome return for the flying haggis and Rich, alongside Saturday boy Mark and debutant Gaz. All in all a good night of polo - everyone going home with their newly created CP Series spoke card...

it was wicked, shows how much better people play when it matters even though there was nothing at stake a tournament brings out the best in people, lots of injuries last night including being hit in the stomach with a mallet...
