| | what a way to ruin a nice fucking frame http://www.chariandconyc.net/blog/wp...7/dsc_0728.jpg and the blue nag is clearly built for rear brake too, what a waste of a very rare road racing nag. [Photos below are obviously porn, but think already appeared in the porn thread, only to prove point] http://www.chariandconyc.net/blog/wp...1/dsc_0146.jpg http://www.chariandconyc.net/blog/wp...1/dsc_0147.jpg |

| | how so? the frame is the central part of the bike. a cheap 100mm stem and an expensive one function much in the same way (ok, so less flex or whatever), gets the job done, cheap parts with the same dimensions can be got, but frame material and geometry i think are more important. |

| | Being in the bike trade i'v seen a fair few broken/cracked/bent frames and you know what, it's always on high end bikes. Plus, if a frame fits then who cares what it cost, who decided on the geometry or what it's made from. I know that if i had the money i'd get a ti frame built but i'd ask the builder to base the geo on my Fuji Track coz it fits me perfectly. |

| | Well, if you make the wall thickness big enough, it's all but impossible to break a frame, and pretty hard to weld it so badly that it comes apart at the seams. High end is all about pushing the material to its limits, so it would be astonishing if the failure rate were lower |

its like the mugs in formula-1, driving cars that barely last 67 laps. My Opel Vectra estate's lasted 12 years, and the tyres last considerbly more than an hour. Last edited by Smallfurry; 2nd December 2009 at 09:10. | |
