My friend has just snapped the key in the lock of her bike and needs rescuing.

there's a couple of mm sticking out apparently, and she doesn't want to leave it ther overnight. I'm not in the country otherwise I'd go!

Anyone?

Thanks, dude! She's a good friend and definitely worth rescuing...

Think she's going to relock it with her second lock, cross her fingers and hope it's there in the morning...

thanks again

maybe she cold try knocking on the door of Fixed Gear London warehouse?
or she could try holding up her broken key and shouting "Trixie Chix… Ho!" - there's usually a few of them up that way :-P

Even if they've locked it and left it, you could still call me and i could stick an extra lock (or two) on it till tomorrow

She locked her bike up, crossed her fingers and it was still there this morning. Apparently a locksmith has quoted £40 to unlock it. She tried to get pliers in to the lock but it didn't work...

Thanks to everyone who offered assistance. Think she's hoping to go to Trixie Chix soon to meet some people...

Nice one, see some of you at polo tomorrow...

I am sure you could get an angle grinder for less (or rent / borrow one). Not sure anyone round that neck of the woods would notice another bike being unlocked in an unconventional way.
