The only thing I don't like about word press is the fact that you don't get much image space at all so we will have to end up hosting images externally (photobucket, tiny pic, etc)

Also should we have peoples posts on there or just a general whats going on with the group.
For example post about upcomming rides in the blog so they are at the top of the page, same with Polo.

Just my 2pence, I'll sit down and have a proper look at it tonight with a beer or two once works out of the way.

I think there's 100mb or so, and I have hosting space where we can put as much as we want. As for the content, that's open for debate. Don't mind too much. Would be nice if there was a lot of articles and activity going on - we could make upcoming ride posts sticky so that they're always at the top?

Yeah I'm just trying to think of a balance of rides/polo info then other activity.

hmm need to have a good think about this!

We could have it as a standard blog just reporting on what we've been up to as it happens. with pictures videos etc.

Ha, yeah. That was sort of my grand plan when setting this all up, but we are all slack as fuck. Plus riding in a pack at 20+ miles an hour makes it hard taking pictures... Dunno how far we can go with it, but seems like a good idea in the making. May have to bash our heads together somewhat.

Action cam's I think they are called. My uncles got one for his plane, they are pretty good.

I reviewed one once - did my Hackney to Soho commute on it. Was going to put it on the website as part of the review, then realised that it was evidence of about 90 traffic law violations...

You get 3gb atm with Wordpress. More than enough for pics where and when you needs them.

I know it's a bit of change in direction, but do you think a blog like http://www.tumblr.com/why-tumblr would be the way to go?

Easy as hell to update, we could all update on the fly if we wanted. Can easily tie up RSS feeds to update this site on the blog and you get unlimited space from day one. It's also really easy to change the layout.

Wordpress has all that too, the only thing is that I need to add users at the start, but that takes me 5 seconds once people have registered. I can also update on the move from the Wordpress app for the iPhone, which I love.

Ah the only thing I don't like about wpress is the fact you have to pay for more storage. Also you can't really customise it too much.

i think tumblr would be better. Havent seen a fixed gear tumblr yet. Also i think more people use it and you can follow etc really simple to use to. or we could just have 2.

I've just tried the blog out on my phone for the first time and wordpress on the mobile looks really good!

As I said before... Whatever... Wordpress looks shit hot anyway. Only problem with WP is that I cannot find an easy way to get an RSS feed from the page!? May just be being thick, but I aint much of a blogger...
