It means that those monitoring Twitter for updates, especially of Classifieds stuff can now be pinged the instant a new thread is created using whatever client that they please. So it becomes somewhat trivial for someone to obtain a live feed of "For Sale" adverts... which is pretty useful. |

| | Oh, and it also ensures that new threads are almost instantly indexed by Google and Bing. I've tested and proven that updates to Twitter are one of the main triggers to getting search engines to index a page, I assume both search engines are drinking from the firehose. I'm reckoning it's now under 90 seconds for a thread to be indexed and available as a search result in Google. |

Not that Google is the only thing to follow the link. My stats show around 20 real people follow each link on average. So there's actual real user benefit way in excess of the SEO benefit. | |
