haaa no one realised it was a single speed methinks il support the brakes idea though, i thought id be geet clever and have no brakes in my first week - fucked myself up big style = no riding for a month :( as for slating, i still get ripped for riding like a dickhead and having no lights - slatings all in the game hahaha you should see phil about footstraps, hes been making some hardware-less velcro beasts, pretty cheap too..... Hi Tristan, Believe it or not, the polo beater cost me £12.50 to build. Basically that was the cost of the tyres. The rest either came out of the skip at RCB, was what I had lurking around the shed, or what I could scrounge. Just goes to show you don't need to spend a fortune or use exotic parts. I know some might turn their noses up at it, but it gave me a lot of pleasure to build, cost fook-all and got me started in polo. Might upgrade when I get a bit better at polo, but it suits me as a starter-bike ;) I've got another part-built if you're interested? | |

| | Tristan, Free fun is better than paid fun, no? ;) I also get more satisfaction out of it knowing that I built it myself. The other beater polo bike is small frame, 21" or thereabouts, short toptube too. It has a one-piece crank, bmx-style, with 38 tooth ring and I was gonna build a bolt-on-cog fixed back wheel for it, (tuff as fook, not even Pete could break this setup) tho it currently has freewheel cassette. Both wheels are 26" with slicks. Will post pics tomorrow if yer interested. Be warned, it looks a bit rough cos not painted yet. Oh, and yes I did paint the red bike. |

| | sweet ride phil, love it. didnt know where else to post this. but im really pissed off because not only did i fuck my self up really bad on my bike on tuesday, but to add insult to injury some horrible scum bag climbed into my back garden, bust my shed open and nicked my mountain bike, just wanted to mention it and hoped people would keep an eye out for me its a black carrera with loads of custom bits. brown charge saddle, brown dmr grips, a white halo tornado on a rear dmr revolver, grey marzochi forks, dmr stem, race face seat post and a couple of other little bits. cheers. |
