Cat eye the indestructible

my front light came off today in heavy traffic (I had not clicked it in). It was run by two cars.

but although it was in pieces all over the road and the batteries were flattened, no part of the plastic snapped.

In fact the only broken part is the lens, which I intend to reshape with a hair dryer.

I have taped a gel over the led cube to hold in in place and get home.

Anyway. I know this is a pretty boring testimonial but i was most impressed so thought I'd share.

Some people have all the luck...

I have had a couple of cateye lights all of which have broken in a very short time. The brackets seem to be made of cheese as far as I can tell.

At least that way they would actually be useful for something

I tend to find the opposite .. if a cateye falls on the floor ... i.e. I funble the thing in the cold. They usually explode and that is £20 down the drain.

Cateye are shit. I've never had one last longer than a year. Their mounting systems are wank too,

which is good cheese money. you could buy some really nice cheese. wank and shit are free so may as well buy more cateye.

in what way? you could eat the brackets? it's a pretty small amount of cheese to satisfy your cheese needs.

I've had a lot of Cateyes. Most tend to get nicked before I can break them. My front recently broke after not very long, but the rear has been going for ages. Had enough now and bought a Fenix/Knog for the front and keep the Cateye on the rear.

Talking of fronts - stopped at a cafe inside the station this morning, leaned my bike next to the counter, and when I turned around my front Knog was gone.
